Meditation, in my experience, is a resting or pausing process inspired by a naturally arising interest in one's true nature and condition. If this pausing process continues over a period of time, a gradual settling down clarity of consciousness takes place. The "clarity" mentioned here becomes our growing awareness of our various actions and reactions , and our habits both natural and acquired, "good" or "bad". The two key features of the resting process is a gradual "settling down", and a deepening sense of self awareness. Our growing awareness has the capacity to mature into a 360 degree self awareness, comprehending the unlimited complete spectrum of our human selves (even those aspects that have been forgotten, ignored, or repressed), all of which seem to have evolved directly from the beginning of life 3.75 billion years ago.
